The Chilterns Neuro Centre has recently announced the launch of their annual appeal, Breath of Hope, in efforts to raise essential funds for their specialist Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) service, which supports individuals living with neurological conditions.
The appeal aims to showcase the life-changing effects that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can have on those affected by conditions such as MS, Parkinson’s, and strokes. As one service user stated, “I couldn’t hold down a job without it.” The Centre carries out hundreds of treatment sessions annually and considers it a crucial aspect of their overall care, support, and wellbeing services.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves the administration of 100% oxygen in a pressurized chamber, allowing the body to absorb a higher amount of oxygen than usual, which can aid in the healing process. This therapy has been proven to improve the quality of life for many individuals, helping them manage symptoms and maintain their independence.
As a non-profit organization, the Chilterns Neuro Centre heavily relies on donations and fundraising efforts to continue providing their specialist services. The Breath of Hope appeal aims to ensure that local individuals can continue to access treatment and support when needed.
Carol Jackson, oxygen therapy manager at the Chilterns Neuro Centre, expressed, “We witness the positive impact of hyperbaric oxygen therapy every day. For many of our members, it brings hope, relief, and the opportunity to live more independently. Through the Breath of Hope appeal, we are asking the community to help us secure this vital service for the future.”
Funds raised through the appeal will cover the ongoing costs of operating and maintaining the hyperbaric oxygen service, including specialized equipment, chamber maintenance, and clinical support.
The charity is encouraging individuals, businesses, and community groups to get involved by making a donation, organizing a fundraising event, or raising awareness of the campaign.
