Unlock Your Potential by 2026: Defying Limits and Achieving Success

On Tuesday 7 July 2026, over 250 participants from the UK and Europe gathered in Norwich for Able2B’s premier event, “Discover Your Ability”. The event has already raised over £20,000, proving that disability does not define potential.

The event was a display of inclusivity, with children, young people, and adults with disabilities, neurological conditions, and long-term health conditions coming together to tackle physical challenges. Rather than competing against each other, they worked alongside one another, united by encouragement and teamwork.

For Able2B, Discover Your Ability is more than just an annual event. It is a representation of their belief that with the right support, high expectations, and opportunities, remarkable things can happen. Throughout the day, participants achieved milestones that they were once told were impossible.

One such participant is Tommy, who suffered a global brain injury and was told he would never walk or communicate again. However, this year, he independently navigated the course in his powered wheelchair and walked the final stretch with support. Another inspiring story is that of Holly, who was unable to stand just four months ago but ran 200 meters across the finish line on Sunday.

Participants came from all over the UK, Ireland, and even Germany, including Anke, who lives with cerebral palsy. She was able to complete the entire course pain-free with the help of hiking poles, after being told she needed a hip replacement. Eight-year-old Harry, who previously relied on a K-walker and lacked confidence, spent the day running lap after lap with his teammates, much to the pride of his parents.

However, the true success of the event lies not in the physical achievements, but in the sense of community and inclusivity that was fostered. Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and co-founder of Able2B, Rachael Hutchinson, commented on this, saying “In a society that can too often focus on labels, differences and limitations, Discover Your Ability showed something much more powerful. Inclusion isn’t about treating everyone the same. It’s about creating the right environment so every person has the opportunity to thrive.”

Former British and European boxing champion and co-founder of Able2B, Jon Thaxton, echoed this sentiment, stating “People often ask us what success looks like, and it isn’t simply someone crossing a finish line. It’s seeing people who have so often been defined by their diagnosis become teammates, encourage one another and discover what they’re truly capable of.”

The event has already raised over £20,000, with donations continuing to pour in from inspired supporters. Planning is already underway for Discover Your Ability 2027, as Able2B remains committed to helping more individuals discover their true potential.

Anyone looking to support Able2B and their mission can donate through the Discover Your Ability 2026 JustGiving page. Let us continue to build a society where disability does not define potential.
