“UK Manufacturing Networks Bolstered by £510,000 Investment in Yorkshire Startup”

Digital Catapult, a leading technology and innovation center, announced today it has invested £510,000 in Productive Machines, a Yorkshire-based company focused on developing software to improve machining processes and reshore production to the UK.

The investment will support the growth of Productive Machines’ flagship product, SenseNC, an autonomous milling optimization platform that simulates and refines machine settings before production begins. By reducing trial-and-error methods, the software aims to reduce waste, lower costs and improve output for manufacturers.

Productive Machines has already successfully worked with aerospace supplier AML, reshoring production of two components to the UK. Additionally, the company has formed partnerships with FICEP UK and the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre in Belfast. SenseNC Feeds, a variant of the platform, is now available on the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace for a price of £1,250, making it accessible to manufacturers of all sizes.

Erdem Ozturk, chief executive and co-founder of Productive Machines, expressed excitement for the investment and how it will allow the company to expand in the UK and Europe, as well as pursue new opportunities in the US.

Susan Bowen, chief executive of Digital Catapult, also expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and the potential to strengthen UK supply chains and increase competitiveness in manufacturing. The investment was made in the form of a convertible loan note through a program allowing Catapults to directly support the companies they work with.
