Scotland’s youngest female whisky leader, Jackton Distillery, introduces first ever RAER Single Malt

Jackton Distillery, a family-run Lowland distillery just outside of Glasgow, has announced the public pre-sale of its first ever Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The Inaugural Release, led by Managing Director Jaynie Kean, is now available for pre-purchase with a limited first batch of 6,000 bottles.

The release marks a significant moment for the Kean family, who laid down their first casks in February 2020. For Jaynie Kean, the release represents more than just a product launch, stating, “Our first Single Malt is a huge moment for us as a family, as a team and as a young distillery.” She goes on to explain that the release is a representation of everyone who has been a part of Jackton Distillery’s journey.

The first batch of The Inaugural Release has been drawn from Bourbon, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado, and Oloroso casks, resulting in a well-balanced and rich flavor profile. On the nose, drinkers can expect notes of fruitcake, fig, and sultana, while the palate brings forth dark fruits, treacle, and roasted nuts. The whisky has been bottled at 48.7% ABV, with natural color and non-chill filtration.

What sets Jackton Distillery apart is its commitment to openness and collaboration. As part of the development process, the team shared early samples with visitors, trade contacts, and whisky specialists, gathering feedback to craft a truly exceptional release. In recognition of their contributions, the names of these individuals have been included on the Single Malt box, highlighting the real people who helped shape The Inaugural Release.

The Inaugural Release is available for pre-purchase now on the distillery’s website, with shipping beginning on September 4th, 2026. The whisky can also be collected directly from Jackton Distillery. The 70cl bottle is priced at £68 and is expected to sell quickly due to its limited run and high demand. Jackton Distillery is proud to be female-led, family-run, and independent, with a focus on a hands-on approach to production and a growing visitor experience.
