Melitta, a leading coffee company, has announced their partnership with Real Madrid, one of the most successful soccer clubs in the world. The partnership, which will last for the next five years, will see Melitta as the exclusive coffee partner for the club’s women’s and men’s teams.
As part of the partnership, Melitta will provide the Bernabéu Stadium, training ground, and offices with coffee machines, coffee, and service. This will include over 60 professional XT6 fully automatic coffee machines and over 150 Barista TS machines in the VIP and general spectator areas. The company will also have numerous opportunities for communication, such as perimeter advertising, marketing activities, and access to players.
Jero Bentz, member of the management board and great-grandson of company founder Melitta Bentz, expressed their excitement about the partnership, stating that it will increase global awareness and perception of their brand. Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, also shared his excitement, stating that they have found a strong partner who shares their values of excellence, quality, and passion.
This partnership is a continuation of Melitta’s successful collaboration with Manchester United, which ended in 2025 after eight years. According to Patrick Schenk, responsible for sports partnerships at the Melitta Group, the partnership with Manchester United was a great success and the partnership with Real Madrid is the next logical step in further expanding their successful model of global sponsorship.
Real Madrid is known as one of the most successful soccer clubs in the world, having won the Champions League 15 times and the Spanish league 36 times. With around 750 million fans and 584 million social media followers, Real Madrid has the widest reach of any football club worldwide. The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, which hosts over 250 events per year, welcomes around 3.5 million visitors annually. The club’s women’s team has also achieved success as a multiple Champions League participant and runner-up in the Primera Division.
Apart from this partnership, Melitta also has strong roots in international, national, and regional sports, with current sports partnerships in place with Borussia Dortmund, Arminia Bielefeld, Minas Tenis Clube, GWD Minden, Bessel-Ruder-Club, and Minden Wolves.
