The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce has expanded its team with the appointment of a new finance administrator and certification & customer service co-ordinator.

The region’s ‘go to organisation’ for companies to access business events, support and local representation has announced the arrival of Noreen Bi and Saira Khan. The announcement follows its recent rebrand to provide more district specific representation across the Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield districts.

Equipped with over 10 years of experience working in the accounting and administration industry, Noreen, of Dewsbury, brings along a strong skillset and desire to see the local business community thrive.

As finance administrator, she will be responsible for the day to day financial and administration duties, such as bank reconciliations, invoicing, staff expenses and BACS payments.

Noreen said: “I am extremely fortunate to be working with a confident and compassionate Chamber, where support from peers is endless. The sense of motivation and dedication is exactly what attracts me to the Chamber.”

Saira Khan, of Huddersfield, brings along a wealth of knowledge from her roles as customer service assistant at Polyframe Halifax, and exam certificate processor at Kirklees College.

As certification & customer service co-ordinator for the Chamber, her main responsibilities will be printing European certificates of origin, customs documentation & Arab certificates, spot-checking all documentation and liaising with customers, handling documentation for embassies, and providing information to businesses to support their international trade needs.

Saira commented: “I am delighted to be a part of the Chamber team. Helping local businesses thrive means a lot to me. Seeing businesses grow and achieve their goals, especially in today’s economy is so rewarding.”

The Chamber was established in 1853 and is one of 54 accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce. It works to connect, support and represent businesses across the Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield districts, providing a vast range of benefits and services for its members to aid business growth and give local organisations a voice.

Both Noreen and Saira’s appointment will strengthen the Chamber team as it focuses on its 2019 development plans and continues to support, connect and represent its members.
