Halton Women to Receive Support with Launch of Well Woman Weekends in January

Fortuna Female Society has revealed plans for their new initiative, Well Woman Weekends, set to launch this January. The programme comes as a result of feedback from women in Halton who have expressed a need for more accessible support.

Through community consultations and an online survey, the charity discovered a strong demand for daytime and weekend activities that promote relaxation, stress reduction, and confidence building. Women also expressed a desire for practical sessions that can fit into their busy lives without any financial barriers.

In response, Fortuna Female Society conducted a trial run of additional activities leading up to Christmas, which were met with positive feedback and high attendance rates. This success has prompted the charity to expand the programme and dedicate the month of January to these activities.

January can be a particularly challenging time for many women, with long work weeks, financial strain after the holidays, and fewer opportunities to recharge. Well Woman Weekends have been designed to combat these difficulties by offering practical and welcoming activities during this period.

The January programme includes a Women’s Meditation Circle, which has returned by popular demand, as well as a new workshop on mental and emotional health called “Your Wellbeing Toolkit” led by The Wellbeing Lady. The Raven Tree will also be hosting a new session called “Relaxing Sound Bath” using sound for rest and renewal. Additionally, a new Women’s Self-Defence Course will be offered, focusing on awareness, movement, and practical skills in a women-only setting.

Laura Bevan, Chair of Fortuna Female Society, stated: “January can be a tough month, and financial pressure can feel isolating. So many women told us they want time and space to relax and connect with other women. Well Woman Weekends are about offering that space, giving women a chance to slow down, feel supported, and take part in something that feels good for them.”

All activities offered during Well Woman Weekends are free of charge, with the option to donate to support Fortuna Female Society’s ongoing work in Halton. Interested individuals can reserve their spot by visiting the Fortuna Female Society website at www.fortunafemale.org/event-directory.
