Fruehauf has significantly extended its leadership in the UK tipping trailer market, claiming a 39.4% share of newly registered trailers in Q1 2025—nearly three times higher than its 14.3% share in 2021.
The newly released data, based on official trailer registrations, highlights the company’s rapid ascent. This growth has been fuelled by sustained investment, a relentless focus on quality, and strong customer confidence throughout the transport industry.
But there’s more beneath the surface. Once over 100 trailers delivered into the Republic of Ireland over the past year are taken into account—outside the UK registration scope—Fruehauf’s actual market influence edges close to 50%, a commanding presence in the tipping trailer space.
CEO Tom O’Rourke said: “We’re thrilled to announce that our market share has reached these impressive levels once again. This achievement reflects the dedication of our entire team and thanks to everyone involved. With exciting developments underway and partnership synergies between MV Commercial and Fruehauf just beginning to take shape, we’re confident in even greater growth ahead. Our focus remains on delivering exceptional value to our customers, as we continue to innovate, we’re eager to demonstrate what’s next for our industry.”
A major driver behind Fruehauf’s growth has been its long-standing partnerships with respected haulage names including Bulmans Bulk, Openfield, Lomas Distribution, Wykes Engineering, Strawsons, 3R Solutions, and Laws Transport—all of whom continue to rely on Fruehauf equipment.
This year, the company expects to approach the 700-trailer milestone, illustrating the growing demand for its top-tier, British-engineered products.
Fruehauf’s expansion is underpinned by transformation at its Grantham headquarters. The 67-acre site has seen major upgrades with new production lines, advanced automation, and a scaled-up factory footprint—improving output, shortening lead times, and boosting product consistency.
The manufacturer has also broadened its scope, with 200 crane trucks and 50 drawbar trailers currently in production for MV Commercial, along with the newly released tipper Blower. Seventy-five units of this innovation are expected to be delivered this year, mainly for the animal feed market.
Fruehauf’s momentum has attracted industry praise, with Commercial Motor recently profiling its modernised operations, celebrated British engineering legacy, and dedicated workforce.
In a highly competitive space, Fruehauf’s enduring focus on quality craftsmanship and domestic manufacturing continues to pay dividends—and with market share edging toward the 50% mark, the outlook remains strongly positive.
