London’s iconic Canary Wharf will be hosting a unique Scandinavian celebration this Saturday, April 26th, as the UK’s first and only Sauna Boat sets sail for its grand opening. This special event, brought to you by Skuna Boats, will also coincide with World Sauna Day, making it a steamy and exciting affair.
The Sauna Boat, which has made its way from Sweden, will be docked at Canary Wharf and will offer guests a taste of authentic Nordic sauna culture. The boat can accommodate up to 15 people and features a wood-fired sauna and rooftop cold water plunge pools, providing a true sauna experience.
The grand opening celebration will include taster sauna sessions accompanied by live DJs, a live ABBA cover band called “ABBAs Angels,” and traditional Scandinavian sweet and savoury treats. Guests can also enjoy specially crafted sauna beers and cocktails while learning about the journey of the Sauna Boat from Sweden to London.
But this event is more than just a sauna experience; it’s a celebration of the Scandinavian way of life where saunas are not only spaces for wellness and restoration, but also social hubs.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 26th from 11am to 3pm at Skuna Boats Dock in West India Quay. Guests can enjoy free sauna sessions, food and drinks, and live music from the ABBA cover band. The event will also feature East London DJ Mini-Mel, keeping the vibes warm all afternoon.
