London, 21 July, 2026 – ANAAR, a UK-based social enterprise, has announced the launch of the ANAAR Artisan Network in partnership with Chia Network Inc. This platform aims to support the estimated 200 million artisans who do not have online verifiable records of their work or professional identity.
Led by sustainable couture designer Lucy Tammam and entrepreneur Aditi Angiras, the ANAAR Artisan Network will provide artisans from around the world with the opportunity to create, own, and verify their professional identities. This will enable them to connect with global brands and showcase their skills and craftsmanship.
According to ANAAR, existing artisan documentation systems are fragmented and often cannot be verified across borders or supply chains. The ANAAR Artisan Network seeks to address this issue by offering a platform that is accessible and efficient for both artisans and buyers. This will not only benefit artisans by providing them with market visibility, but also help brands and designers source skilled craftspeople more effectively.
“The network exists so the story of a beautiful thing no longer ends where the maker’s name should have been,” said Aditi Angiras, CEO of ANAAR. “When the world can finally see its makers, value will flow to what it can find.”
The ANAAR Artisan Network employs W3C decentralised identifiers and verifiable credentials secured on the Chia Network public blockchain, ensuring the accuracy and credibility of artisan profiles. The network is built on a social foundation and does not charge artisans to be a part of it. Its assets and profits are legally bound to its mission, making it a sustainable and ethical platform.
“Identity and artisanal process verification need to be portable and simple, otherwise every constituent, from artisan to consumer, loses value in fees, time, and resources expended,” said Vishal Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer of Chia Network Inc. and Member of the Board of ANAAR Artisan Network CIC. “The Chia blockchain provides the technology underpinning the registry, harmonizing the data and enabling an efficient and secure process for brands and artisans alike.”
The ANAAR Artisan Network is set to revolutionize the traditional artisanal market by directly connecting brands with artisans, eliminating unnecessary intermediaries and complexity that often diminish the value of handmade work. The first artisans are already registering through TAMMAM’s Embellishment Artisan Programme in London, supported by the PVBLIC Foundation. The first collection to utilize the innovative network capabilities and artisan profiles will be released during London Fashion Week in September.
Through the ANAAR Artisan Network, ANAAR aims to elevate the status of artisans and the value of their work globally. Chia Network Inc, created by Bram Cohen, the inventor of BitTorrent, provides the secure and regulatory-compliant infrastructure for the network.
