Gloucestershire community organisation, MindBody Synergy CIC, has released preliminary findings from their recent wellbeing programme, Take A Breath. The event, which took place on August 22, 2026 at the Kingsway Community Centre, was sponsored by Tele-Therapies Ltd and aimed to promote restorative practices and social connection.
The post-event evaluation was completed by 14 participants and showed positive changes in all six measured wellbeing dimensions. Self-reported stress decreased while breath awareness, calm, energy, emotional wellbeing, and connection with others increased. The overall programme received an average rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars, with all respondents indicating that they would attend again or recommend the programme to others.
Of the 14 participants, 13 were first-time attendees and one was a repeat attendee. The majority of participants were aged 61 or over, with a mix of ages ranging from 18 to 60. The most highly rated activity was the Sound Bowl Meditation, with participants reporting feeling calmer and more relaxed, as well as learning new breathing techniques.
Dr Devi Sundar, Founder and Director of MindBody Synergy CIC and Tele-Therapies Ltd, expressed optimism about the preliminary findings, stating, “The initial participant feedback is encouraging, particularly the observed changes in self-reported stress and breath awareness.” She also noted that these findings will inform future improvements to the programme and potential research studies.
Dr Sundar holds a PhD in Integrative Pulmonary Rehabilitation and is dedicated to promoting mind-body health. Her organisation, MindBody Synergy CIC, aims to support community wellbeing through evidence-informed holistic mind-body programmes and practices.
Tele-Therapies Ltd, a partner of MindBody Synergy CIC, is an independent health and research organisation that focuses on interdisciplinary activities in psychology, respiratory health, and behavioural science. Together, these organisations hope to continue building on the positive findings from Take A Breath and potentially conduct a more formal feasibility study in the future.
