That’s why many public buildings such as schools, retail outlets and hospitality venues – plus cultural and leisure spaces such as gyms, museums and galleries – have sought to keep their doors open. No-one touches the handles or door surface, and the risk of spreading infection is minimised.
But leaving entrances open to the outside air means that shops, restaurants, educational institutions and many more places are suffering from hugely increased utility bills. In fact, letting the heat escape from a building through open doors can lead to a heating bill that’s up to a quarter more expensive according to some research. And that’s without considering the impact on the environment of such a practice.
Inside public buildings, moreover, any fire doors must be kept shut anyway, no matter how highly trafficked these areas are, as a matter of simple health and safety.
Fortunately, there is a cost-effective solution to help keep doors shut, whether internal fire doors, or exits and entrances onto the street. British company Veraco has come up with the answer to this tricky conundrum: antimicrobial products.

This means it’s an effective weapon against the spread of coronavirus.
