Wrightform Ltd, a leading subcontract engineering firm based in East Anglia, is thrilled to have hosted a series of exclusive open days throughout April. These events offered guests and clients a rare glimpse behind the scenes at Wrightform’s advanced facility, underscoring their commitment to innovation, precision, and sustainability.

Established on a foundation of superior craftsmanship and customised service, Wrightform Ltd continues as a privately held company dedicated to exceeding client expectations. Serving a varied clientele across the food processing, construction, and agricultural sectors, among others, Wrightform is renowned for its engineering acumen.

The open days afforded visitors a chance to meet the committed Wrightform team, including workshop personnel, production staff, supervisors, managers, and Directors. Remarkably, the event was attended by three generations of Wrightform staff, represented by Directors Ken Rose, his son Harvey, Mark Rose and esteemed co-founders Paul Rose and John Wilby. “Each team member plays an integral role in supporting our customers and upholding the tradition of value and ethics that defines Wrightform – and it was a real pleasure to be part of these events,” Paul Rose remarked.

Guests touring the facility were treated to a detailed walkthrough of Wrightform’s engineering process from raw materials to final products, led by knowledgeable in-house experts and the sales team. They toured the 24,000 sq ft space, experiencing firsthand the sophisticated machinery and technologies employed.

A standout feature of the tour was the demonstration of Wrightform’s exceptional laser-cutting capabilities. With three laser cutters, including a state-of-the-art 15kw fibre laser, the firm showcased its skill in handling various materials such as mild and stainless steel, aluminium, brass, and copper. Attendees watched live as customer projects were executed, displaying the machinery’s capability to precisely cut complex designs and shapes, highlighting their potential for bespoke fabrication tasks.

At various service stations, guests saw examples of previous projects and current customer work undergoing various stages of processing. Each station highlighted a different service, including mobile robots, deburring machines, and CNC lathes, as well as metal flattening, forming, and folding. Throughout the tour and demonstrations, hosts were on hand to address any queries, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging visit for all participants.

John Ensinger, General Manager of Wrightform and Wrightfield Ltd, highlighted the importance of these open-day events. “Our open days provide a unique opportunity for visitors to gain insight into our operations and witness the craftsmanship and attention to detail behind our finished products. We take pride in our work, and these events allow us to share our passion with our customers.”

Further emphasising their commitment to sustainability, Wrightform has installed a nitrogen generation plant to supply gas to all three lasers, significantly reducing their environmental impact. Additionally, they have implemented ducting to redirect heat from the plant room to the workspace, enhancing energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.

The open days received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants. “Many visitors were surprised by the scale of our facility and the breadth of processes we undertake,” Ensinger commented. “When we hear feedback about how impressed people are or ‘how our professionalism is admirable,’ it makes it all worthwhile. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to connect with our customers in this way, and we look forward to welcoming more visitors in the future.”

Following the successful spring tours, Wrightform is eagerly planning a series of summer open days in June, July, and August. They hope for favourable weather to expand their hospitality to include an outdoor BBQ area, offering guests an even more memorable experience.
