Woolf Helmets Surpasses Funding Goal with Support from 200+ Investors for World’s First Foldable Smart Helmet

London-based company Woolf Helmets has successfully raised £450,000 from over 200 investors on Seedrs/Republic Europe, reaching 100% of its initial fundraising target. The campaign has now opened up to overfunding investments, and with the current momentum, the company is projected to close the round at £1 million.

Led by founder Jeff Woolf OBE, Woolf Helmets is the first company to introduce a foldable smart helmet to the market. With features like automatic hands-free turn technology and Energy Reduction Technology® (ERT), which provides rotational force protection against traumatic brain injuries, the Woolf helmet offers advanced safety measures similar to MIPS systems. The helmet is also designed to be convertible for use in snow sports.

“I’m really excited about creating one helmet to cover all needs,” said Jeff Woolf OBE. “We’ve combined cutting-edge safety technology with intelligent design to deliver a foldable, smart helmet that adapts seamlessly from city cycling to snow sports, making it easier than ever to stay safe without compromise.”

The success of the campaign reflects the growing interest in micromobility and the demand for innovative safety solutions. This was further validated by Woolf’s April Kickstarter campaign, which closed at an impressive 750% above the target, showcasing the intense consumer demand for the product.

Jeff Woolf OBE, a multi-award-winning British inventor and entrepreneur, has a proven track record of innovation. With previous successful campaigns on Seedrs/Republic Europe that have raised over £5.5 million, including investments from tennis star Andy Murray, Woolf brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his latest venture.

“It’s fantastic to see such strong investor confidence in the campaign. We’ve worked hard to create a product that solves real-world problems, and it’s clear that both consumers and investors believe in what we’re building,” said Jeff Woolf OBE.

One investor publicly shared their support for the campaign on the Woolf Helmets discussion page, stating, “I gave up investing on Seedrs, but Jeff, you have been a star on this platform, I therefore broke my policy and increased my initial investment.”

Every day, millions of people use hire bikes and e-scooters, yet helmet usage remains surprisingly low due to their bulk and inconvenience. Woolf, whose life was saved by a helmet after a serious cycling accident, has dedicated years to overcoming this barrier. And his latest innovation, the Woolf Helmet, aims to do just that by offering a convenient, portable, and technologically advanced solution for helmet-wearing.

But the Woolf Helmet is more than just a portable helmet. It boasts innovative features such as hands-free indicators activated by simple head movements, motion-sensitive brake lights, and crash detection and emergency alerts via the Woolf Helmets app. It also features patented Energy Reduction Technology (ERT®) to mitigate rotational forces and lower traumatic brain injury risks, instant emergency service and emergency contact notifications, and a flat-folding design for easy portability that can also be converted for snow sports usage.

With the global helmet market estimated to be valued at $4.8 billion and projected to reach $7.47 billion by 2030, the demand for safer helmet options is only expected to increase, especially with the exponential growth of micromobility and tightening safety regulations worldwide. The Woolf Helmet is well-positioned to meet these demands, with its CPSC (US) and CE EN1078 (global) standards compliance and strong IP portfolio.

Lightweight and flat-folding in a fraction of a second, the Woolf Helmet is designed to fit easily in a bag, making it the most convenient helmet ever created. “Helmets haven’t evolved in decades, even as urban commuting has changed dramatically. The Woolf Helmet is designed for the demands of today’s riders. The best helmet to keep you safe is the one you actually bring with you, and this helmet can come with you anywhere,” added Woolf.

The funds raised from the campaign will be used to expand manufacturing and distribution for a Q1 2026 global launch, with a retail price of £219.
