“Last year we had an amazing time, even though the weather really wasn’t on our side! This year we’re back, bigger than ever, and we can’t wait to bring people together again,” said Beth Huntley, CEO of Safe, Sustainable Travel Torbay. “The Glow Ride is about having fun, celebrating cycling and showing that everyone deserves to feel safe travelling after dark. You don’t need to be an experienced rider or own a fancy bike; just come along, glow up and show up for safer travel.”

The Glow Ride aims not only to entertain but also to emphasize the importance of community and the need for safer, more accessible travel options after dark. Cycling UK’s My Ride. Our Right campaign focuses on overcoming obstacles that prevent individuals from cycling, such as safety concerns and inadequate infrastructure.

As riders prepare to set off at 6:30 PM, The Boathouse will offer hot drinks, food, and refreshments. Following the ride, participants will conclude their journey at TQ Beerworks in Torquay, directly across from Torre Abbey Sands.

This event welcomes everyone, regardless of age or cycling proficiency. Those traveling to Torbay without their own bicycles can contact SSTT to arrange bike or e-bike loans.
