The Anderson Foundation Funds Neonatal Ventilator, Bringing Hope to Families of Special Care Babies

Anderson Foundation Raises £26,000 for New Life Special Care Babies at Prestigious Christmas Luncheon

London, UK – The Anderson Foundation, a charitable organization known for its philanthropic efforts, recently hosted a Christmas Luncheon at The Rosewood Hotel in London. The event, which was held on Monday 8 January, 2024, raised a total of £26,000 for New Life Special Care Babies, a charity dedicated to providing specialized equipment for neonatal units across the UK.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Goodall, Founder and CEO of New Life, stated, “The Anderson Foundation’s marvellous donation is truly exceptional. Such substantial contributions are rare, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to them.” He also acknowledged Mr. Steve Dopson, one of the Trustees of New Life, for facilitating the partnership with The Anderson Foundation and expressed appreciation for the entire team for making it possible.

The significant donation from The Anderson Foundation will be used to procure a neonatal ventilator for The Great Western Hospital in Swindon. Dr Sarah Bates, Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist, emphasized the importance of this equipment, stating, “The new ventilator will provide constant pressure during non-invasive respiratory support, reducing permanent lung injury for premature, sick, and vulnerable babies.” She also mentioned that this would accelerate recovery, decrease overall bed days in the neonatal unit, and enhance long-term outcomes. Additionally, the ventilator will offer crucial support to sicker babies while awaiting transfer to a tertiary neonatal centre.

Mark Anderson, Chairman of The Anderson Foundation, expressed his delight at hearing about the impact of the donation. He stated, “The Anderson Foundation is delighted to hear that the donation from our recent charity auction to New Life Babies has gone to great use, enabling the charity to purchase new equipment and continue with the much-needed support they offer neo-natal units around the UK.”

New Life Special Care Babies was founded 26 years ago by Mr Goodall, following the premature birth and subsequent loss of his twin boys. Since then, the charity has evolved from a one-time charity golf day into a continuous series of fundraising events. To contact the charity, individuals can email trevor@newlifebabies.org.uk.
