Telecom Acquisitions Limited (TAL) has announced the acquisition of 850 additional residential broadband customers. This comes after the company recently acquired the remaining customer base of TalkTalk’s subsidiary, Origin Broadband, which exited the telecoms market earlier this year. The majority of these customers were transferred to Utility Warehouse.
According to TAL CEO Nigel Barnett, this latest acquisition was a small but significant addition to the company’s customer base. “Mainly connected through the Vodafone infrastructure using its SoGEA network, this base was only a small acquisition for us but, added to the 4,000 customers we gained from recently acquiring Earth Broadband’s base, means we hit our quarterly target,” said Barnett.
Barnett also expressed confidence in TAL’s organic sales growth, which he says has been steadily increasing month on month. He also announced the launch of the company’s new app, which will give customers better control over their routers and internet usage.
“With our app, customers will be able to review their speeds and functionality of their devices, including reviewing faults. Later this month, we will also be introducing parental controls, followed by account details and payment functions at the press of a button,” explained Barnett.
This latest development follows the recent launch of TAL’s own Advanced Communications Platform (ACS), which gives the company greater control over its routers and has resulted in a 20% reduction in fault resolution times.
In addition, TAL has also implemented AI technology in its credit control team, which has proven to be highly successful. “We stopped outbound dialling and relied on the AI option of paying online or speaking to an agent. This resulted in a great saving in man hours and increased customer satisfaction,” shared Barnett.
Looking towards the future, Barnett believes that TAL is on track for a successful year in 2026, with further acquisitions in the pipeline. For more information and comments, please contact Nigel Barnett at nigel.barnett@ta1.co.uk.
