Safehire.ai Ltd has officially launched its pioneering recruitment intelligence platform, setting a new standard for digital safeguarding. The platform made its debut at the 2025 Independent Schools’ Bursars Conference, where it was welcomed as a potential game-changer across regulated recruitment sectors.
The company was co-founded by Simon Holden (CEO) and Sean Lumley (COO), two former British Army officers and lifelong friends who share a mission to modernise safeguarding. Their goal: to close the often-overlooked gaps left by conventional background checks.
“We’re not here to patch a broken system. We’re building one that reflects the realities of digital risk. Safehire.ai brings visibility, intelligence, and context to where safeguarding truly begins – recruitment.” said Simon Holden.
Utilising a combination of artificial intelligence and human-in-the-loop (HITL) analysis, the platform scans billions of open-source data points, including deep and dark web content. Unlike social media scraping, the tool produces objective, evidence-led reports, based on verifiable risk factors. These reports are delivered within 24 to 72 hours at a competitive rate of £20–£30 per check, depending on subscription level.
“A year ago, it would cost £1,000 for an analyst to do a deep web background search to uncover evidence of child sexual exploitation, radicalisation or hate speech,” added Sean Lumley. “Today our AI/human partnership can do the same thing for less than £30.”
Safehire.ai is purpose-built for regulated industries—such as education, law, healthcare, and youth services—where the need for secure, scalable and affordable vetting solutions is critical. The platform’s subscription model allows organisations to access cutting-edge background screening at a cost and scale that suits their operational needs.
