Aura Energy is a leading producer and distributor of urea formaldehyde concentrate (UFC 85), a clear, viscous liquid that is made up of 15% H2O, 25% urea and 60% formaldehyde. UFC 85 is used for a variety of different purposes, including the manufacture of both dry and liquid nitrogen fertilisers; the manufacture of amino resins; and as an anti-caking agent for urea granules. UFC 85 is also used in permanent press resins for textiles, as well as the manufacture of moulding compounds.
Aura Energy’s Resin Division produces urea formaldehyde resins that are used in an array of different applications. Urea formaldehyde resins are used to produce particle board, plywood, oriented strand board, medium density fibreboard and other engineered wood products, presenting the most cost-effective bonding system for these applications. They are also used in the production of slow-release fertilisers and as binding agents in animal feed pellets. Urea formaldehyde resin also offers an inexpensive yet highly effective alternative to foam insulation, as well as being used in the production of corrugated cardboard to improve crush and water resistance
