Revitalized Classic Book Seeks to Reinforce the Significance of Coaching

Effective Modern Coaching, the bestselling book by renowned business coach Myles Downey, is set to release its highly anticipated fourth edition on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. With the goal of reviving the importance of coaching in the business world, this new edition provides authoritative and proven guidance and techniques for managers, executives, and coaches to bring out the full potential of their employees and clients.

According to Downey, coaching has lost its effectiveness and is no longer delivering the desired results. In response to this, the author presents his well-known and tested frameworks – The Effective Modern Coaching Model and The GROW Model – in a more evolved and suitable form for today’s business environment. The ultimate aim of the book is to help coaches and leaders deliver results that significantly improve business performance.

Downey states, “Effective coaching in the workplace brings achievement, fulfillment, and joy, benefiting both the individual and the organization. Individual performance is crucial for corporate success, and with the increasing need to achieve more with less, coaching has proven to be a successful approach in helping individuals perform at higher levels.”

Since its initial release in 1999, Effective Modern Coaching has sold over 333,000 copies and has been translated into multiple languages. David Webster, C.Psychol., Partner at Centre for Teams, praises the book, saying, “Myles is the real deal, and his work, as expressed in Effective Modern Coaching, especially this new edition, is a must-read. Keeping us all honest about the purpose and process of coaching is at the core of this classic, which I continue to recommend to clients and colleagues alike.”

Myles Downey is regarded as one of the world’s top business coaches and is the founder of The School of Coaching, established in 1996 as the first institution in Europe to focus solely on developing coaching skills for coaches, managers, and leaders. He is also the author of Enabling Genius and The Enabling Manager (LID).

Effective Modern Coaching will be published by LID Publishing on April 25, 2024, and will be available in paperback and e-book formats.
