“Ovacome, UK’s Ovarian Cancer Support Organization, to Host Free Event in Norwich for Those Affected by the Disease”

Ovacome, the leading ovarian cancer support charity in the UK, is proud to announce their upcoming Health and Wellbeing Day at the Mercure Norwich Hotel on Saturday, July 19, 2025. The event is open to anyone who has been affected by ovarian cancer, including friends and family of those diagnosed. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about managing their health following a diagnosis, as well as connect with others who have also been diagnosed with the disease. The day will feature presentations from experts on available treatment options and updates on research developments.

According to statistics, 7,500 individuals are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and 1 in 50 women can expect to receive a diagnosis in their lifetime. As an uncommon cancer, those diagnosed with ovarian cancer may feel isolated, which is why events like this are crucial in providing support and community.

Anna Hudson, head of Ovacome’s Support Services, expressed her excitement about the upcoming event, saying, “We are thrilled to be bringing our Health and Wellbeing Day to Norwich. This is our first event of this kind in the area, and we are looking forward to connecting with as many of our members as possible. These events provide valuable information and a chance for the Ovacome community to come together, socialize, and form new connections.”

The event will feature a lineup of expert speakers, including a talk by local Consultant Gynaecologist, Dr. Nikos Burbos, who is based at Norfolk and Norwich Community Hospital. Attendees can also expect sessions on “Scar Therapy” with Fiona Kent and Pryscilla Borrajo, a talk by clinical nurse specialist Siobhan Falco, a meditation session with Dee Williams, and a craft tapestry workshop led by Faith Caton.

The event is open to anyone with a diagnosis of ovarian cancer, as well as their friends and family. Ovacome is also able to provide practical and financial assistance for travel or accommodation, if needed.

This event has been generously funded by the Childwick Trust.

Interviews with Ovacome representatives are available upon request.
