Newsome Ltd, a leading national specialist in process cooling, air conditioning, dehumidifiers, and temperature and humidity control systems, is proud to mark 40 years of continuous service by Dave Harker.
Dave, who currently serves as Strategic Projects Director, has been pivotal in the company’s journey from a small regional supplier to a trusted partner for manufacturers across the UK.
Starting his career on the shopfloor, Dave quickly proved his technical expertise, determination, and leadership qualities, which became hallmarks of his long tenure at Newsome. Over the years, he progressed through a variety of positions including sales, project management, and operations, ultimately becoming Managing Director. Today, as Strategic Projects Director, he continues to use his deep sector knowledge and experience to deliver major rental and sales projects for clients nationwide.
Throughout his career, Dave has demonstrated the ability to respond to the evolving needs of customers and the business alike. His leadership saw Newsome move into new markets, embrace innovative technologies, and build a reputation for providing reliable, efficient, and compliant solutions. His vision and adaptability have enabled the company to grow and adapt alongside changing industry demands.
Affectionately known within the company as “Mr Newsome”, Dave’s influence has shaped every corner of the business—from introducing new service offerings and mentoring staff to directing long-term strategies and strengthening customer relationships. His dedication has played a crucial role in earning the trust of major manufacturers in industries including food and beverage, chemicals, plastics, and pharmaceuticals.
Despite holding senior roles, Dave has maintained a collaborative and hands-on approach. He works closely with the Sales, Projects, and Service teams to ensure that Newsome’s high standards are consistently upheld. His technical authority is underscored by his IEng ACIBSE accreditation with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional excellence and best practice.
