“Micom Achieves 2025 Great Place To Work® Certification Following Successful Culture-Driven Transformation”

Coventry-based company, Micom, is proud to announce that they have officially been Certified™ by Great Place To Work® in 2025. This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to building a workplace culture that prioritizes trust, listening, and meaningful action. In a recent survey, 97% of Micom employees stated that it is a great place to work, demonstrating a 7-point increase from the previous year and surpassing the UK average.

For Micom, this achievement goes beyond just a number. It reflects the hard work and dedication put in by the entire team to address employee feedback, enhance leadership practices, and create a stronger workplace for the future.

CEO of Micom, Andy Barber, expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This means a lot to us because it comes from the people who shape our business every day. What makes me proud is not just the score, but the journey we have taken. Our team spoke up and we took swift action to make improvements. This is the kind of culture we strive to maintain and cultivate.”

The journey towards this certification began with one of Micom’s own employees. As part of her leadership degree, Operations Manager, Kasia, conducted research on how internal communication and feedback could be enhanced. This prompted the leadership team to conduct their first Great Place To Work survey in 2024, which led to immediate action being taken.

Over the past year, Micom has implemented several people-focused initiatives, including a new salary sacrifice scheme with over 28 employee benefits, more meaningful moments through events like Tea Tuesdays and Diversity Days, and refreshed Townhalls. Additionally, they have also established a Giving Committee, which supports both local and global causes such as Baby Godiva, Coventry Haven, and a school in Zanzibar.

These changes have contributed to significant improvements in the overall employee experience, including a 34-point increase in the perception of special and unique benefits, a 19-point increase in the belief that their work has special meaning, and a 14-point increase in the trust employees have in management to do a good job.

Micom’s certification is part of a larger shift within the company, as they transition from traditional print to a digital-first, hybrid communication platform. Despite this growth, maintaining a strong and human culture remains a top priority for the company.

Barber emphasized, “Growth means nothing if your culture doesn’t keep up. This is not the end goal, but rather proof that when we listen intently and take bold action, we can build a workplace that truly works for everyone.”
