/Call for Volunteers to Support Social Groups for Older Adults
Age Concern Hampshire is seeking volunteers in the towns of Totton, Fordingbridge, Kingsclere, and Whitchurch to assist in fostering connections among older individuals through its Social Groups.
These groups provide a welcoming environment where seniors can socialize, engage in meaningful conversations, and participate in various activities such as quizzes, games, gentle exercises, crafts, and singing. The role of volunteers is crucial in cultivating a friendly atmosphere that enhances the experience for attendees.
Volunteering can include tasks such as preparing refreshments, interacting with participants, joining in on activities, and ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and included. While some light preparation may be involved, the primary focus remains on building relationships and ensuring a positive experience for all.
No prior specialized experience is required, as Age Concern Hampshire offers the necessary support and training for newcomers. For volunteers, the role presents an opportunity to connect with others, engage with the community, learn new skills, and enjoy fulfilling experiences.

You don’t need specialist experience, just a friendly approach and a couple of hours to spare.”
