As part of the campaign, SocialBox.Biz will collect laptops, MacBooks, and other corporate computer hardware and technology from across the UK. The collected items will then be securely wiped of any data, upgraded with open-source software, and distributed to vulnerable groups through charity partners. In addition, SocialBox.Biz also provides tech labs and training opportunities for those in need.
Several case studies have demonstrated the impact of donations to SocialBox.Biz. For example, through a donation from Age UK Islington, a job seeker was able to secure employment. A donation from Enabled Passage helped a homeless individual named Lily shape homeless services, while another donation from Age UK London helped a senior citizen reconnect digitally.
