“ISLAND: The Psychological Thriller That Brings Together Hollywood and Ukraine”

New International Film “ISLAND” Unites Hollywood, UK, and Ukraine in Spain’s Canary Islands

Tenerife, Spain – November 12, 2025.

Amid the stunning landscapes of the Canary Islands, the production of “ISLAND”, a new international film project, is currently underway. Led by Ukrainian director and producer Serhiy Skobun from Magnat Media P.C., the movie brings together Hollywood, the UK, and Ukraine on one screen in an ambitious creative collaboration filmed in three languages: English, Spanish, and Ukrainian.

The film features well-known Hollywood actor Kevin McNally, best known for his role as Mr. Gibbs in Pirates of the Caribbean, alongside Rachel Warren, a rising talent from Britain, and renowned Ukrainian actor and People’s Artist of Ukraine, Bogdan Benyuk.

“Working with Kevin has been a true pleasure – he is a consummate professional who understands the rhythm and soul of every scene,” says director Serhiy Skobun, highlighting the collaborative atmosphere on set.

Despite the tranquil beauty of Tenerife, the production has caught the attention of many – fans of McNally have been following the team to filming locations, seeking autographs and photos. “The enthusiasm of both locals and tourists demonstrates the power of cinema to bring people together,” adds Skobun with a smile.

About the Film

“ISLAND” is a psychological thriller that delves into the delicate balance between trust, technology, and humanity. The story follows Bold, a debt collector who has lost faith in people and relies solely on artificial intelligence. Sent by a crime boss to Tenerife, Bold becomes entangled in a web of violence, deceit, and moral conflict – where every decision comes with a cost.

The film’s visual language is built on contrasts – scorching sunlight against the cold ocean, light versus shadow, life and death – creating a tension that mirrors the main character’s inner turmoil.

Ukrainian Art Meets European Cinema

Ukrainian artist Yevhen Sudyin plays a dual role in the production – as both an actor and art director. His creative vision shapes the visual tone of the movie, blending realism with symbolic expression.

“In one of the scenes, gangsters accidentally destroy one of my paintings – and according to the script, I had to fight them afterward. I must admit, that was the most emotional moment for me on set,” laughs Sudyin.

The film is produced by Magnat Media P.C. (Spain), known for their international productions that combine European storytelling with Ukrainian cinematic passion.

Festival and Distribution Plans

“ISLAND” has already sparked interest from European film festivals, with its premiere set for 2026. The project aims for a wide theatrical release across Europe and the UK, as well as distribution on streaming platforms.

“This film is not just about one man’s struggle – it’s about the search for truth in a world where good and evil are constantly shifting,” concludes Skobun.
