Introducing a New UK Bookstore Subscription: Enhancing Family Bonding Through Shared Reading Experiences for Adults and Children

A new online bookstore has recently launched with an innovative subscription service aimed at bringing families closer together. The service, named “One Story, Two Books”, provides a monthly delivery of an adult and child version of the same book, allowing families to read and discuss the same story without the usual arguments and interruptions.

The subscription, set to launch in July, pairs a children’s edition (age 7+) or advanced readers (age 5+) with the corresponding adult edition. This unique concept aims to create a shared reading experience that sparks conversation, connection, and the occasional “Wait, did we read the same chapter?” moment.

According to the founder, the idea for the subscription was born out of a desire to help families spend more quality time together. “We noticed that in today’s busy world, technology often isolates children and makes it difficult for families to bond,” they explained. “Reading together is a crucial skill that can be nurtured by sharing an intriguing story. Our team discovered that many classic and popular books have been edited for children, so we came up with the idea of sending both versions of the same book.”

Each monthly delivery includes a big adult book edition, a mini child book edition, literary plot suspension markers for each book, official anti-book-thievery notice stickers, collector’s book companion record book review slips for both adults and children, and various other surprises and activities.

The founder hopes that the subscription will make reading a shared ritual again, whether it’s with a parent, grandparent, carer, godparent, aunt, or uncle. “We want to bring families together without the need for technology or complicated schedules. Just two books, one story, and a sprinkle of magic,” they said.

The subscription officially launched on 28 July, with the first orders to be dispatched on 1 August. Families can sign up and eagerly await their monthly package, bringing back the excitement of receiving mail. The mission of the subscription is simple: to help families (re)connect through stories, laughter, and the joy of reading together. Say goodbye to endless scrolling and hello to quality time with loved ones.
