! “9FT TIGER ON THE PROWL IN NORFOLK – BE ALERT!”

Wildlife photographer, guide, and conservation campaigner Paul Goldstein is on a mission to save tigers. He is currently walking 1,000 miles across Britain, carrying a nine-foot tiger on his back, to raise £50,000 for tiger conservation.

This year marks 16 years since Paul first ran the London Marathon in his now legendary tiger suit to raise awareness and funds for these vulnerable animals. Since then, he and his tiger have completed 49 marathons, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for conservation projects such as funding patrol vehicles, wildlife transportation trucks, and schools.

Partnering with the conservation charity Explorers Against Extinction (EAE), Paul’s campaign “2 Legs for 4” will see him walk 500 miles from Anglesey to Southend-on-Sea, followed by another 500 miles from Southend-on-Sea to Land’s End over 42 days.

At 63 years old, this is by far Paul’s biggest challenge yet. Despite facing record temperatures and a chest infection during the first week, he remains determined to raise awareness and funds for tiger conservation.

Paul’s journey will take him through Norfolk, a county that holds deep personal significance for him. His family has roots stretching back over a century, and he has spent much of his life here. His mother’s earliest memory is celebrating her third birthday at Brancaster on the day Britain declared war in 1939.

Paul is inviting the Norfolk community to join him for any section of the route, whether it’s a day, a half marathon, or just a few miles. He believes that every step counts towards making a difference in protecting wildlife.

Funds raised through 2 Legs for 4 will be managed by EAE and will go towards crucial conservation projects such as installing solar lighting to reduce dangerous encounters between humans and tigers in India and supporting research on the effects of climate change on tiger habitats in Bhutan.

To support Paul’s cause, you can join him on his walk, attend a special evening event with him and the tiger at Blake Studio in Norwich, or donate to the campaign. A generous supporter has pledged to match the first £10,000 donated, doubling the impact of every early donation.

Paul’s dedication to protecting wildlife has earned him recognition and praise from renowned figures such as author and broadcaster Simon Reeve and conservationist Chris Packham.

Join Paul on his journey to save tigers and make a lasting impact for generations to come. Full route details and event tickets can be found on the 2 Legs for 4 website.
