Inciner8 Poised for Growth as CEO Reflects on First Six Months

Last Updated on: 22nd November 2023, 04:48 pm

Darren Spencer, the new Chief Executive of Inciner8, sees a bright future for the incineration market, driven by a growing global awareness of the environmental advantages of waste incineration.

As he completed his first six months at the helm of Southport-based Inciner8, Spencer reflected on the potential for substantial global expansion. Inciner8, a UK manufacturer of incinerators distributed worldwide, is experiencing year-on-year growth, with 98 percent of its products being exported internationally.

Spencer, a seasoned business leader with extensive global experience in the machinery industry, has taken the reins to lead the company into its next phase of development. His goals include ambitious plans for expansion and innovation.

He believes that the current state of the market, characterised by a global appetite for clean-air incineration, presents an ideal environment for further business expansion.

Inciner8 designs and supplies incinerators for a diverse range of sectors, including healthcare, municipal waste management, mining, NGOs, agriculture, and remote island hospitality.

Darren Spencer remarked, “The world has a huge waste problem, but there is only so much space for landfill. Many countries are switching on to the benefits of incineration, with businesses like Inciner8 working hard to change perceptions of this method of disposing of waste.”

He went on to highlight examples such as Sweden, where combusted waste is used to generate energy, and Japan, where incinerators help address the issue of limited landfill space. Additionally, reducing waste sent to landfills can decrease methane production, thereby mitigating the impact on climate change.

“After my first six months in this industry, I can see huge potential for Inciner8, which uses pioneering clean-air technology and pollution control systems to help customers meet their environmental goals,” Spencer noted.

“As a responsible manufacturer, we see it as our role to educate even more people about the benefits of incineration above landfill and address any misconceptions they may have.”

With over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, Spencer possesses the strategic thinking and commercial acumen required to lead the company forward. His mandate includes expanding Inciner8’s global reach and supporting authorities and businesses worldwide as they grapple with the challenges of safe, clean, efficient, and cost-effective waste management through clean-air incineration.

As the global population continues to grow, exacerbating the issues related to landfill reliance, Spencer will lead Inciner8 in its mission to provide sustainable and affordable incineration solutions.

He concluded, “As someone who has worked for 30+ years in manufacturing and global distribution, witnessing what the team at Inciner8 have achieved in the past few years is highly impressive, and an example of what a driven team with a clear vision can do. I accepted the offer to join the team after observing an industry that clearly has so much potential for growth, and a belief that Inciner8 is a business uniquely placed to become a market leader within the incineration industry.”
