Healthtech Startup Bloodtest.co.uk Lands £3M Backing to Expand AI-Powered Diagnostics

Last Updated on: 16th July 2025, 05:34 pm

Bloodtest.co.uk, a UK-based digital diagnostics platform, has secured a £3 million investment from an American private equity firm, valuing the business at £15 million in exchange for a 20% equity share. The investment highlights growing investor interest in digital-first healthcare models that prioritise accessibility and innovation.

Founded in 2023 by entrepreneur Giles Meadows, the platform began as a side project in a bedroom. It has since grown rapidly, emerging as one of the country’s most promising providers of private blood testing and AI-driven aftercare. It allows users to directly access testing services, with results and insights delivered digitally — avoiding long waits and GP appointments.

Demand for the service is building quickly, fuelled by individuals seeking privacy, efficiency, and greater ownership of their health data. With public healthcare systems under strain, the move towards private diagnostics is accelerating — and Bloodtest.co.uk is well-placed to meet that demand.

“This is a huge moment for us,” said Giles Meadows, Founder of Bloodtest.co.uk. “It’s been many months in the making to secure this investment, and it’s encouraging to work with people who understand where we want to position the company. Their belief in our mission and approach means a lot — this is just the beginning.”

The US investor said:

“We’re seeing sustained growth in demand for private healthcare services, particularly in markets like the UK, where innovation is reshaping access and delivery. What impressed us about Bloodtest.co.uk was not only its market traction but also the strength of its technical vision — especially the integration of AI-powered aftercare. This is a company solving real-world problems in a modern, scalable way, and we’re excited to support the next phase of its growth.”

The funding will be used to:

  • Develop the platform’s technology further

  • Broaden the diagnostics offering

  • Drive user acquisition with strategic marketing

  • Forge partnerships with insurers, employers, and healthcare providers

As consumer demand for smart, data-led healthcare continues to rise, Bloodtest.co.uk is positioning itself to transform how diagnostic testing is accessed and delivered across the UK.
