On Wednesday 17 September, 2025, Weston Turville Golf Club was abuzz with excitement as the Chilterns Neuro Centre hosted its annual Charity Golf Day. Under clear blue skies and glorious sunshine, golfers gathered to support a worthy cause while enjoying a day of camaraderie, competition, and community spirit. The event, which raised nearly £6,000, aimed to raise funds and awareness for individuals living with neurological conditions.
The day kicked off with a hearty breakfast in the clubhouse, setting the tone for a day of friendly competition. As teams headed out for 18 holes of golf, the perfectly manicured fairways provided the ideal backdrop for some impressive play.
Stella Kubale, Head of Fundraising at the Chilterns Neuro Centre, expressed her appreciation for the overwhelming support of both familiar and new faces at the event. “It was fantastic to see so many supporters come together to make a real difference, not just through the sport of golf, but also in supporting those affected by conditions such as MS, Parkinson’s, and strokes. The funds raised will help us continue to provide life-changing therapies and services, and we are grateful to everyone who participated.”
The competition saw some remarkable performances, with Shane Locks taking the top prize as Individual Winner. The team trophy was awarded to the Turville Terriers – Pat D’Cruz, Martin Caro, Steve Kent, and Allan Cooper – who emerged victorious by a single point after a thrilling contest.
The day’s celebrations continued with a well-deserved buffet, where golfers exchanged stories of impressive shots, close calls, and plenty of laughter, truly embodying the spirit of the club.
The Chilterns Neuro Centre also paid tribute to event sponsor Better Mobility, whose ongoing support was integral to the success of the day.
“We are incredibly proud to sponsor the Chilterns Neuro Centre’s Charity Golf Day. It’s inspiring to see so many individuals come together for such a worthy cause, and we know that the funds raised will make a meaningful difference to the lives of those in need. Supporting events like this goes beyond just a day of golf – it’s about giving back to the community and creating a lasting impact.”
