Flexible online qualifications from Gaia Learning now Pearson Edexcel approved

On Monday 15 December, 2025, Gaia Learning announced its approval as a Pearson Edexcel Online Learning Centre. This prestigious accreditation allows the leading national online alternative provision for learners with special educational needs (SEN) and neurodivergence to expand its range of accredited pathways, providing flexible and personalised approaches to education.

As a Pearson Edexcel Online Learning Centre, Gaia Learning is now able to offer modular iGCSEs, remote invigilation, and alternative exam arrangements to its learners. These options are specifically designed to support individuals who may not thrive in traditional assessment models, including those who require more flexibility in terms of timing, pace, and learning environment.

Neeki Armani, Head of Learning at Gaia Learning, expressed their excitement about this approval, stating, “Many of the learners we work with have experienced disruption or exclusion from mainstream education. This approval enables us to offer recognised qualifications alongside approaches that prioritise wellbeing, engagement, and long-term outcomes.”

At Gaia Learning, the focus is on learner-centred pathways, recognizing that educational progress does not follow a one-size-fits-all approach. As a national online provider for learners with SEN and neurodivergent profiles, the organization works with young people whose needs are often not met in traditional settings.

Learners engaged with Gaia Learning have the opportunity to follow a combination of pathways, including Functional Skills as a foundation for further learning, modular iGCSEs completed over flexible timelines, interest-led and project-based learning, one-to-one mentoring, and tailored academic support. The organization also offers adjusted exam arrangements where appropriate, all designed to cater to individual needs rather than conforming to a fixed model.

The outcomes and progression of learners following personalized pathways have been remarkable, with many moving on to sixth forms, colleges, and apprenticeships aligned with their interests, returning to mainstream education if suitable, and completing examinations in settings that reduce anxiety and pressure. For learners with SEN and neurodivergent needs, the ability to take qualifications in a calmer and more structured environment has resulted in renewed confidence and re-engagement with learning.

Gaia Learning is committed to inclusive education and works nationally with families, schools, and local authorities to support learners who are out of education, awaiting placement, or unable to access suitable provision within mainstream settings. The organization emphasizes that progress is not defined by speed or comparison, but by sustainability, inclusion, and wellbeing.

The approval as a Pearson Edexcel Online Learning Centre is a significant step towards expanding accredited, flexible education routes for individuals who require an alternative approach.
