ARTA 2025 Announces Finalists for National Chef of the Year Award in Partnership with Cambridge Regional College

The Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) 2025, known as the nation’s most prestigious celebration of Pan Asian cuisine, has announced the finalists for their highly anticipated National Chef of the Year award. This exciting cook-off competition took place at Cambridge Regional College on Monday, September 8th, where top chefs from all over the UK competed under immense pressure to impress a panel of culinary experts. Each contestant was challenged to create a signature dish that combined traditional heritage with modern innovation, showcasing complex flavors, precise techniques, and bold creativity.

While the ARTA is known for its recognition of excellence in the Asian restaurant sector, it also has a larger mission to elevate and support this industry. The Asian restaurant sector contributes over £5 billion annually to the UK economy and provides employment for more than 100,000 individuals. By partnering with Cambridge Regional College, the ARTA is working towards upskilling chefs in the Indian and Bangladeshi communities, nurturing the next generation of culinary leaders.

Graham Taylor, Management Curriculum & Lead Commercial Operations at Cambridge Regional College, expressed his admiration for the dedication and talent displayed by the competing chefs, stating, “We’ve seen remarkable dedication and talent, and it’s exciting to help shape the future of this vibrant industry.”

Chef Chad Rahman, senior member of the Craft Guild of Chefs, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, and ARTA judging panel, also spoke highly of the competition, saying, “An incredible display of culinary excellence and technical dexterity was exhibited by the competing chefs. Exceptional standards of complex flavor combinations, creativity, innovation, and originality truly tantalized the taste buds. This only reaffirms how the Asian culinary landscape is evolving from strength to strength.”

Mohammad Mujibur Rahman, former Mayor of Corby and ARTA judging panel member, emphasized the importance of ARTA cooking competitions, stating, “ARTA cooking competitions are about more than taste — they are about growth. Judging since the organization’s inception, I have seen how events like this inspire creativity, sharpen technical skill, and give chefs a vital platform to showcase their talent. They also provide career-boosting exposure and invaluable networking within the hospitality sector.”

The finalists for the National Chef of the Year 2025 title will now compete for the coveted award at the ARTA Grand Finale and Gala Dinner on October 6th, 2025 at the London Hilton Park Lane.
