“Emergent Secures $1.5B in Series C Funding to Empower Entrepreneurs and SMBs in Developing Essential Business Software”

San Francisco, CA – In a major milestone for the tech industry, artificial intelligence software creation platform Emergent has announced a successful Series C financing round at $1.5 billion valuation. The round was led by Creaegis, with co-leaders Claypond and Sentinel Global, and participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator.

This latest investment, which amounts to $130 million, comes just four months after Emergent’s Series B financing round. The company’s rapid growth and innovative platform have propelled its valuation to unicorn status, making it one of the most valuable AI companies in the world.

Founded in 2025, Emergent has quickly established itself as a leader in AI-native businesses, helping entrepreneurs and small business owners build full-stack, production-ready web and mobile applications. The platform has seen over 12 million apps built in the last year alone, with more than half of its customers using it to power crucial software for their businesses.

“The real impact of the AI revolution will be a complete democratization of who gets to build what software, where they get to build it, and how much it costs,” says Emergent Co-Founder and CEO, Mukund Jha. “With a platform like Emergent, the people who have great ideas and deep domain expertise can now build and run the software their business needs to succeed at a fraction of the cost.”

The emergence of AI has opened up new opportunities for small businesses and non-technical founders, allowing them to compete in a market dominated by larger companies. According to Gartner, worldwide spending on AI is forecast to exceed $2.5 trillion in 2026, a 47% increase over the previous year. Emergent’s platform is helping bridge the gap for businesses that lack the technical skills or resources to develop custom software.

“We built Emergent for the non-technical entrepreneur and the small business owner, with 70% of our users having no prior coding experience,” says Jha. “We give these users a new path beyond generic SaaS, slow and expensive dev shops, lightweight prototype tools, or waiting for technical talent to which they may never have access.”

Emergent’s users are building a wide range of software, from customer-facing products to internal tools and operational systems. These solutions are helping businesses increase efficiency, automate manual work, and streamline operations. The platform’s success stories include a consumer app that saw a fivefold increase in new business inquiries and a small business owner who saved nearly $20,000 in custom development costs.

“Creaegis is proud to be a part of this historic moment for small businesses and entrepreneurs,” says Prakash Parthasarathy of Creaegis. “Emergent is enabling every entrepreneur and business to embrace the power of production-grade software and automation.”

Emergent’s mission is to democratize software development, making it accessible to anyone with a great idea or deep domain expertise. The company is backed by Creaegis, Claypond, Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, Sentinel Global, Y Combinator, Prosus, Together, and Google’s AI Futures Fund.
