Francis House Children’s Hospice in Manchester will open its doors to the public for an Open Day on Saturday, November 7, 2026. This event offers community members and supporters a unique opportunity to witness firsthand how their donations positively impact the lives of children and families across Greater Manchester.

Attendees can look forward to warm guided tours led by members of the hospice care team throughout the day. These tours will highlight the home’s welcoming environment and showcase the hospice’s remarkable facilities, including vibrantly painted murals, refurbished children’s bedrooms, sensory rooms, and upgraded parents’ flats, where families can stay while their child receives respite care.

Located on Parrswood Road in Didsbury, Francis House is dedicated to assisting families of children and young people facing life-shortening conditions. Sharon Doodson, director of care at Francis House, emphasized the importance of community support, stating, “We rely on the generosity of the community to help fund the services that we can offer to the families. There are less services available in the community especially for children and young people with life-shortening conditions and complex needs. We want to be able to continue to support these families and anyone coming to visit us on open day, will see just how important their support is to help keep us going.”

In addition to the guided tours, guests will have the opportunity to purchase merchandise and learn about upcoming fundraising events. Refreshments will also be available in the hall.

The Francis House Open Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 390 Parrswood Road, Didsbury M20 5NA. Please note that no children or families will be residing at the hospice during the event. For further details, interested individuals can call 0161 443 2200 or visit the hospice’s website for more information.
