“CIBD Launches New Short Course on Distiller Packaging”

The Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers (CIBD) has recently announced the launch of their latest self-assessed and on-demand technical course, Packaging for Distillers. The course is designed for distillers of all levels, providing them with essential knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage their packaging operations.

As the leading provider of technical education in the distilling industry, the CIBD aims to equip distillers with the necessary tools to ensure cost-effective and sustainable packaging while maintaining the quality of their products. The course covers packaging for spirits and ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages, and has been developed in collaboration with experienced and accomplished distillers, packaging professionals, and suppliers of packaging materials and equipment.

The Packaging for Distillers course offers the same technical excellence found in all IBD qualifications, without the need for a formal exam. It includes a downloadable PDF with technical information, such as a detailed course summary, troubleshooting tips for packaging operations, and quality checks for packages.

With engaging text, videos, animations, quizzes, and games, the course is designed to enhance learning and provide a comprehensive understanding of packaging materials and operations. Upon completion, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Stuart Howe, Technical Development Manager at CIBD, stated, “Our success as distillers is often determined by the quality of our packaging. Effective packaging enhances our reputation, while bad packaging can destroy it. This course aims to equip distillers with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure effective packaging at all times.”

For more information on the Packaging for Distillers course and other Continuing Professional Development (CPD) short courses, please visit the CIBD website. The course is now available for enrollment and can be accessed on-demand.
