“ChangeX and Paramount Extend World Mental Health Day Community Fund through 2025”

ChangeX and Paramount have announced the launch of the second annual World Mental Health Day Community Fund on Tuesday 14 October, 2025. The fund aims to support grassroots projects that promote mental health and well-being in communities.

Following the success of last year’s fund, which supported nearly 100 local projects across 10 countries and impacted around 20,000 people, the 2025 fund will focus on supporting communities in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Germany, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, and the UK. This initiative is part of Paramount’s ongoing commitment to promoting mental health and well-being globally.

Niamh McKenna, co-founder and head of impact at ChangeX, stated, “At ChangeX, our mission is to empower local communities with the resources they need to create positive change. Partnering with Paramount for a second year will help communities in 10 countries replicate innovative and proven mental health-focused ideas and strengthen well-being in their neighborhoods.”

One of the projects supported by last year’s fund was a mental health workshop hosted by non-profit organization Afrikindness in Leeds. Reflecting on the impact of the project, they shared, “The project has had a significant impact on our community by fostering open dialogue about mental health, especially within African and ethnic minority groups. The workshop highlighted the importance of culturally tailored education and created a safe space for sharing stories and practical solutions.”

Communities can apply for funding through the ChangeX website, and the funding will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis for qualifying applicants. The available ideas include popular 2024 ideas and new additions for 2025, such as Sidewalk Talk, Mindful Meals, Mental Health Community Connect, Push for Global Mental Health, and #NotAlone Open Mic.

ChangeX is a community engagement platform that aims to get funding and resources directly into the hands of ordinary people to lead impactful projects in their neighborhoods. Launched in 2015, ChangeX partners with social innovators to scale proven solutions to environmental, economic, and social issues. The platform also works with companies and foundations to provide necessary funding for local communities. Its funders include the LEGO Foundation, Microsoft, and Paramount, among others. ChangeX is an international non-profit organization with headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, and teams based across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.
