Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson sat down with Al Arabiya English for an exclusive one-hour interview on Monday, discussing various topics including the Israel-Gaza peace process, President Trump’s potential role in negotiations, and his thoughts on current UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s leadership.
During the interview, Johnson also shared his admiration for AI technology, specifically ChatGPT, which he uses for writing his books. When asked about his thoughts on the Israel-Gaza peace deal and President Trump’s involvement, Johnson stated, “I think it’s an astonishing piece of good news…I really pay credit to Donald.” He also praised Trump for his hard work and effectiveness in using his personality and power to make things happen.
Johnson also shared his views on the UK’s role in the rebuilding of Gaza, stating that he hopes the UK will play a big role in the process. He also discussed the rise of Reform UK and Nigel Farage’s political influence, stating that he believes the best bet for the Tory Party is to recover and that he sees Kemi Badenoch, a member of the Conservative Party, as a strong leader.
When asked about his thoughts on Sir Keir Starmer’s recognition of the state of Palestine, Johnson stated, “I think it’s completely vacuous…it’s premature now and it has achieved nothing.”
Johnson also discussed the future of AI and ChatGPT, stating, “One thing that really encourages me is AI. I love AI…it’s so nice. I’m writing various books. I just use it…I see great promise in this technology because we’re all simple. We’re human beings.”
When asked about a potential return to frontline politics, Johnson stated that it is unlikely and that he is currently focused on his family and writing.
