Bluewater Group, a renowned leader in advanced water purification technology and beverages, has successfully acquired Tapp Water, the prominent consumer water filter brand headquartered in Spain. This strategic acquisition reinforces Bluewater Group’s position as a global frontrunner in the water industry, enhances its business-to-consumer sales model, and underscores its commitment to providing sustainable solutions for clean water worldwide.

Tapp Water has gained a strong reputation for its high-quality water filters, offering consumers access to pure and refreshing tap water. By integrating Tapp Water’s expertise and advanced tap-mounted filtration technology into its portfolio, Bluewater Group aims to meet the growing consumer demand for convenient and eco-friendly water purification solutions.

Bluewater’s founder and CEO, Bengt Rittri, commented, “Tapp Water has built an impressive reputation for its high-quality water filters that give consumers access to pure and refreshing water directly from the tap. Bluewater has millions of consumer touch points daily through an extensive network of water refill stations, event and venue hydration stations, and residential and commercial water purifiers worldwide. Our job is to meet consumer demand for clean, great-tasting water they can trust from their faucets. Acquiring Tapp Water further strengthens Bluewater’s position towards the consumer market.”

Tapp Water, founded in Spain and serving over 100,000 customers, has expanded its presence across Europe and more than 20 other countries. The brand has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, having replaced the need for 100 million single-use water bottles with its filtered alternatives. Tapp Water offers a range of products, including the world’s smallest faucet water filter, a groundbreaking glass water filter jug, independently tested shower filters, and water filter bottles using NASA technology to make virtually any water source potable.

Magnus Jern, Founder and CEO of Tapp Water, emphasised the value of the acquisition, stating, “We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to being able to pool the expertise, disruptive technology, and dedication of both companies to make a significant impact on the global water industry.”

Bluewater, founded in 2013, is dedicated to creating a world without the need for polluting single-use plastic bottles. The company’s sustainability vision aligns with its mission to protect the planet’s oceans and waterways. Bluewater believes in generating and delivering great-tasting water and beverages at the point of use, making fresh, healthy water accessible to communities worldwide.

Bengt Rittri, a prominent Swedish environmental entrepreneur, emphasised the strategic significance of the acquisition, as Tapp Water becomes Bluewater’s business-to-consumer arm, solidifying the company’s presence in the mass-market consumer space.
