UK Men’s Sheds Association Invites Entries for 2026 Awards Celebrating Community Impact
The UK Men’s Sheds Association (UKMSA) has announced the opening of entries for the 2026 UK Men’s Sheds Awards. The prestigious awards recognize the outstanding contributions of people, projects, and partnerships within the Men’s Sheds community in the UK.
Men’s Sheds are community spaces that offer friendship, support, and skills sharing for men, while also promoting important causes such as supporting veterans and improving local environments through community projects. With over 1,100 Sheds across the UK, the Awards, sponsored by Diageo/DrinkiQ, aim to celebrate the impact of the growing Shed movement on its members, their families, and the wider community.
The 2026 Awards will feature eight categories, each representing the diverse and valuable contributions of Sheds to their communities. These include the Community Project Award, Partnership Award, Health and Wellbeing Award, Armed Forces Award, Green Shed Award, Heritage & History Award, Shedder of the Year, and Shed of the Year.
Caroline Ellis, CEO of the UK Men’s Sheds Association, expressed her excitement for the upcoming Awards, stating, “The UK Men’s Sheds Awards are about championing the extraordinary stories of ordinary people – the volunteers, the friendships, and the projects that are changing lives and building better communities.”
Ellis continued, “Every Shed has a story worth sharing, and we want to give Sheds the opportunity to celebrate their achievements and the people who make them possible.”
Previous winners of the Awards include Sheds in Blaenau Gwent, Shrewsbury, Braunton, Ripon, Broadstairs, and Reddish.
Entries for the 2026 Awards open on Wednesday 26 August 2026 and close at midnight on Sunday 27 September 2026. Finalists will be announced during the week commencing 19 October, with winners revealed at the Awards ceremony on International Men’s Day, 19 November 2026 in Birmingham.
