TomTom launches TRUCKER 6000 lifetime edition

Last Updated on: 21st November 2023, 11:47 pm

TomTom has created a bespoke satnav designed for professional truckers that want a companion device to remove worry from the job. The TomTom TRUCKER 6000 Lifetime Edition does exactly that. Truck drivers can get accurate, vehicle-relevant navigation, speed camera alerts, map updates and live traffic analysis – for the lifetime of the device – all in one package. The satnav even features a built-in SIM meaning that work abroad will be as care-free as a domestic trip, thanks to a lack of roaming charges.

Truckers can now plan a journey before leaving, and when they climb into their cabin the satnav will be programmed, ready and waiting. Planning a journey from the office, the truck stop, or a stayover, can be done using the MyDrive web app. This takes into account truck weight, type, size and cargo to find the perfect route – removing even more worry from the job. Since this is all done with TomTom’s highly accurate traffic information, getting to the destination on time will be hassle free.

Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director, TomTom consumer, said: “We know how important efficiency is for professional drivers – so we created the TomTom TRUCKER 6000 Lifetime Edition with this in mind. We also know that drivers don’t want to have to worry about paying for additional services and roaming costs in the future, and this is another problem that we’ve solved with this launch.”

The TomTom TRUCKER 6000 Lifetime Edition isn’t only designed for professional driving though, as it can also be used in a driver’s personal vehicle.

The device has a 6-inch touchscreen with tablet style pinch, zoom and swipe controls. Plus it can be docked and undocked easily with the unique Click & Go magnetic mount – ideal for security.

The TomTom TRUCKER 6000 Lifetime Edition is available today at selected retailers priced £399.99, and on the TomTom website.
