trade show Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Trade Show Highlights FUJI’s Potential in Automation of Traditional Manual Processes like THT/ Placement Changes

Kelsterbach, January 10th, 2024 – The automation of the PCB manufacturing process is becoming increasingly prevalent, even in traditionally labor-intensive areas such as THT production. FUJI EUROPE CORPORATION (www.fuji-euro.de) is at the forefront of this trend with their latest innovation, the sFAB-D machine. This machine automates THT placement processes, which have historically been carried out manually. The company will be showcasing this and their AIMEX IIIc placement machine at the “Southern Manufacturing & Electronics” event in Farnborough (UK) from February 6-8, 2024 at stand L80.

As production requirements continue to grow in terms of high-mix and variable-mix production, the need for quick and easy adaptation and increased speed is crucial. “Speed and flexibility are among the main reasons why many of our customers are turning to automation – even in areas that were previously managed manually for decades,” explains Martin Rennie, Branch Manager UK at FUJI EUROPE CORPORATION GmbH.

The AIMEX IIIc is an all-in-one placement machine that supports all production types and allows for easy ramp-up of new productions or quick reaction to changes in package shapes and any errors that may occur. It also includes several test functions to prevent defects and ensure high quality. This leads to a reduction in time and labor costs, as the number of changeovers is minimized. The machine is user-friendly, with easily recognizable pictograms for operation.

In addition to the AIMEX IIIc, FUJI is also showcasing their sFAB-D placement machine for automated PCB production at the “Southern Manufacturing & Electronics” event in Farnborough (UK). This platform automates THT (Through-Hole Technology) placement processes, increasing efficiency while maintaining high precision. It can accommodate various part sizes, shapes, and delivery types, from leaded components to large special components like transformers.

THT production is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process, as components are inserted through holes on the board and then soldered on the other side. Vasilii Afanasev, sFAB Manager at FUJI EUROPE CORPORATION GmbH, explains the benefits of automation in this area: “The automation of THT board placement relieves employees of laborious, monotonous work and makes the placement workstations more effective. It also helps to ensure quality. In today’s competitive market, automated processes are necessary for maintaining high levels of efficiency and competitiveness.”

Both the AIMEX IIIc and sFAB-D placement machines will be on display at “Southern Manufacturing & Electronics” from February 6-8, 2024 in Farnborough (UK) at stand L80.
