Swiss Chocolate Powerhouse, Läderach, Continues Western Expansion With 15 New Stores

Largest Swiss chocolate retailer continues retail expansion across UK and US to satisfy demand, opening over 100 stores despite the pandemic

Läderach – chocolatier suisse has today announced it has signed 15 new high-end chocolate stores in the US as its Western expansion picks up pace, after assuming the lease of more than 30 GODIVA locations there earlier this year and expanding into the UK with a flagship store on Regent Street, an outpost in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush and an outlet in Harrods’ new Chocolate Hall just last month.

Despite many brands leaving the high street over the last 18 months, Läderach has expanded and thrived in lockdown as consumers have spent more money on high quality food and drink during the pandemic. Läderach’s global expansion builds upon its retail and e-commerce plans to satisfy the growing premium chocolate demand that started in November 2019 with its entry into NYC, Toronto and London. This also included opening its 100th and largest store out of Switzerland on Fifth Avenue in New York City, and the unveiling of the highly-anticipated House of Läderach in Switzerland, its new event location with café, factory store, chocolate museum, live production and a walk-in atelier where you can make your own chocolate.

Q2 2021 has seen further expansion with its new Harrods location – its third opening in a year in the UK – as well as two stores in South Florida and Miami. Through Q3 the brand will open a further 15 stores in states including California, Texas, New York and Massachusetts.

Operating since 1962, Läderach – chocolatier suisse is a family-owned premium Swiss chocolate company that now operates in 15 countries. As the largest chocolate retailer in Switzerland with over 1,000 employees and over 100 stores, Läderach is renowned by many as creating some of the freshest, highest quality, responsibly sourced artisanal chocolates in Switzerland, if not the world.

Each store features more than 85 varieties of fresh artisanal chocolate directly from Switzerland to be experienced with the five senses (sight, sound, touch, scent, and taste). They all also include a dedicated FrischSchoggi™ (fresh chocolate) counter, where chocolate lovers can select multiple varieties of its iconic hand-broken chocolate bark. Because the company controls the entire production and distribution channel, Läderach’s product freshness is second-to-none. Reigning World Chocolate Master, Elias Läderach, leads production and innovation, and all chocolate is made from bean-to-bar in-house, finished by hand, and brought directly to its stores worldwide. Lovingly and expertly crafted, responsibly-sourced and using only the finest ingredients, Läderach’s fresh artisanal chocolate masterpieces have gained notoriety around the world and promise an unrivalled Swiss taste experience with every bite of its signature FrischSchoggi™ and over 100 varieties of pralines, truffles, airy Mini Mousses and chocolates.
