“Street Soccer Foundation’s National Legacy Cup 2025: A Decade of Changing Young Lives”

Street Soccer Foundation to Host National Legacy Cup 2025 in Celebration of 10-Year Anniversary

On Wednesday 19 November, 2025, the Street Soccer Foundation announced the launch of a highly anticipated event to commemorate its 10-year milestone: the National Street Soccer Legacy Cup 2025. The tournament will take place on Friday 12 December 2025 at the Derby Racecourse venue.

The Legacy Cup will bring together approximately 150 young people from Street Soccer Academy programmes across the country, all of whom have successfully completed the charity’s flagship 12-week personal development and employability course. This event will provide these young men and women with a unique opportunity to represent the professional Club Community Organisation that hosted their Academy, competing in a national 5-a-side tournament filled with meaning, pride, and celebration.

The Street Soccer Academy programme provides support to vulnerable young people aged 18-30 who have experienced homelessness, been at risk of becoming homeless, or faced significant personal challenges such as unemployment, mental health struggles, or trauma. Using football as a catalyst, the programme helps build confidence, motivation, resilience, and positive mindsets while assisting participants in transitioning into work, education, or further training.

The Legacy Cup is expected to receive coverage from Sky Sports, further shining a national spotlight on the young participants and their inspirational journeys. Global sports brand New Balance will also be in attendance, gifting every participant a brand-new pair of football boots, made possible with the support of New Balance athlete Bukayo Saka.

In honor of its 10-year milestone, the Foundation will unveil its new official logo during the event. Founder and CEO of SSF, former Charlton, Millwall, and Gillingham footballer Keith Mabbutt, will be in attendance, marking a full-circle moment for the charity he launched in 2015 with the belief that football could transform young lives. The Legacy Cup represents the culmination of a decade of growth, impact, and commitment to supporting vulnerable young people nationwide.

The event is proudly supported by the charity’s corporate campaign, The Big Goal, a national movement mobilizing UK businesses to help eradicate youth homelessness. Through corporate membership, companies directly fund Street Soccer Academy delivery across the country, enabling hundreds of young people each year to access life-changing support.

The Foundation is encouraging businesses across the UK to join The Big Goal ahead of the 31 December 2025 deadline for the 2026 campaign. Existing corporate members and supporters are warmly welcomed to attend the National Street Soccer Legacy Cup.

Founder and CEO Keith Mabbutt stated, “The Legacy Cup is a celebration of young people, resilience, and the power of football, business, and community coming together. This event embodies the true heart of the Foundation, providing young people with an unforgettable experience and a platform for inspiration and positive change.”

The Legacy Cup is expected to be a powerful and uplifting event, reflecting the Foundation’s mission and showcasing the continued support of club partners, sponsors, and businesses committed to changing young lives through football.
