Smiley Charity Film Awards Selects Pump Aid’s “Breaking the Cycle: Water Poverty and Empowering Women and Girls in Malawi” Animation as Finalist

Pump Aid, a leading charity organization dedicated to eradicating water poverty in Malawi, is pleased to announce that its animated campaign, “Breaking the Cycle: Water Poverty and Empowering Women and Girls in Malawi,” has been selected as a finalist in the esteemed Smiley Charity Film Awards.

The poignant animation sheds light on the harsh reality of water poverty faced by women and girls in Malawi, showcasing the detrimental effects of limited access to clean water on their daily lives, education, and overall well-being.

Pump Aid Ambassador and renowned BBC Apprentice Finalist, Joanna Jarjue, expressed her enthusiasm for the nomination, stating, “As an ambassador for Pump Aid, I am incredibly proud and delighted that our animation, ‘Breaking the Cycle: Water Poverty and Empowering Women and Girls in Malawi,’ has made it to the finals of the Smiley Charity Film Awards.
