Smart Reporting Showcasing AI’s Role in Radiology at RSNA 2023

Last Updated on: 23rd November 2023, 06:54 am

Smart Reporting is delighted to announce its involvement in the upcoming Imaging Artificial Intelligence in Practice (IAIP) demonstration, happening from November 26th to 29th, 2023, at the 109th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA 2023). This prestigious event, taking place at McCormick Place in Chicago, is recognised as the foremost annual imaging conference globally. The IAIP demonstration is a collaborative initiative focused on demonstrating the fluid integration of AI into the diagnostic radiology workflow. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of AI’s capabilities, learn to ask critical questions, and acquire skills to effectively implement and scale AI in their radiology practices. The IAIP demonstration, featuring teams in the AI Showcase, is situated at South Hall A, Level 3, Booth 4358, with demo tours occurring every 30 minutes during RSNA 2023. A media tour for journalists is planned for Tuesday, November 28, between 10:00 and 11:00 am.

The demonstration will present real-world clinical scenarios, both emergent and long-term, with 20 vendors exhibiting 28 innovative products. Attendees at RSNA 2023 will be guided through the radiology workflow, observing AI tools, health information technology standards, and reporting solutions in action.

Key moments in the radiology workflow where AI can be utilised to assist radiologists, improve efficiency, and enhance care quality will be highlighted. These include radiologist scheduling, imaging examination ordering, acquisition protocoling, image interpretation with AI clinical decision support, synoptic reporting, and electronic health record integration.

Philipp Matthies, Head of Research & Innovation at Smart Reporting, states, “As a leader in HealthTech, we are excited to join the IAIP demonstration at RSNA 2023. This collaborative effort underscores our commitment to advancing the field of radiology through the integration of cutting-edge AI solutions. We believe that by leveraging AI technology within the radiology workflow, we can empower healthcare professionals to provide faster input, achieve better output, and ultimately deliver smarter care to patients.”

Smart Reporting’s solution, SmartReports, will play a crucial role in a live demonstration covering the entire radiology workflow, including Worklist, PACS, AI Orchestrator solutions, an AI findings viewer by Fovia, and AI technologies from Siemens Healthineers and Qure AI. Post AI findings review, coded findings crucial for reporting will be transmitted automatically to SmartReports using HL7 FHIR. In SmartReports, the synoptic reports will be pre-populated, adjusted, finalised, and distributed for further organisational and clinical analytics.

IAIP is a collaborative effort involving industry partners, radiologists, and imaging informaticists, made possible through established standards such as DICOM, HL7 FHIR, the IHE framework, CDE reporting, and more.

Visitors are encouraged to meet the Smart Reporting team at RSNA 2023 (South Hall Level 3, Booth 4953) to discover more about SmartReports and experience the evolution of radiology.
