London – Eduard Beltran, an international negotiation expert, academic, and author, has been inducted as a Full Member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society. The induction ceremony took place at the New York University (NYU) Chapter, where Beltran was recognized for his scholarly achievements and contributions to the advancement of knowledge in his field.
Sigma Xi, founded in 1886 at Cornell University, is one of America’s prestigious scientific research honor societies. The society has a rich history of over 140 years, with past members including Nobel Prize winners such as Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi, Linus Pauling, and Richard Feynman.
Beltran’s induction is the culmination of his more than two-decade-long career, which combines academic research with practical application in the fields of negotiation, leadership, and strategic influence in complex international environments. He has worked with various universities, international institutions, and executive education programs, teaching negotiation, leadership, and related disciplines at institutions such as ESSEC Business School, Sciences Po Paris, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Currently pursuing his doctoral research, Beltran’s work focuses on strategic influence, negotiation, and institutional change. He investigates how organizations can transform communication, public visibility, and reputational pressure into dialogue, negotiation, and measurable institutional outcomes.
Beltran expressed his gratitude at being inducted into Sigma Xi, stating, “Joining Sigma Xi is a particularly meaningful distinction. Research has become an increasingly important dimension of my work, and being part of an international community with such a remarkable scientific legacy is both an honour and a responsibility.” He also highlighted the significance of his affiliation with the New York University Chapter, having pursued graduate studies at NYU and maintained close ties with its international academic community.
A lawyer by training, Beltran studied at the University of Barcelona, Sciences Po Paris, and New York University before building an international career spanning law, public service, consulting, executive education, and academia. Throughout his career, he has focused on the question of how individuals and organizations can build influence, negotiate effectively, and create trust in complex environments with competing interests.
Beltran’s induction as a Full Member of Sigma Xi adds another dimension to his international trajectory, connecting his professional work in negotiation, leadership, and influence with a global community dedicated to original investigation and the advancement of knowledge.
