London-based musician Sheykh Forever is set to release his highly anticipated album, Fire in the Master’s House, on October 16th, 2026. The album, written, produced, mixed, and mastered entirely by Iraqi-born Mostafa Al, is a politically charged project that blends disco, heavy rock, hypnagogic pop, and funk into a collection of powerful anthems.
Over the course of four years, Mostafa worked on the 14-track album from the comfort of his own home, following a string of headline shows and festival performances in London. Since 2024, he has also released several anti-war singles that have garnered attention and praise. Fire in the Master’s House continues this trend, with dancefloor rhythms and hard-hitting lyrics that touch on themes of displacement, propaganda, war, and survivor’s guilt.
Lead tracks such as “I’m your history,” “Ghosts!” and “Lineage” showcase Mostafa’s ability to infuse anger and urgency into his music, blending elements of paranoid funk, warped AM-radio pop, and heavy electronic grooves. The album’s opening track, “I’m your history,” features powerful lyrics that speak to the experience of being forced from one’s home and the impact of war on one’s identity and sense of belonging.
In an interview with Egyptian music magazine Sistra last year, Mostafa shared the emotional core of his project, stating, “I feel a lot of darkness and urgency, and that has never changed.” This sentiment is evident throughout the album, with tracks like “Sleeping Dogs,” “Where Is My Baby?” and “Run for Cover” showcasing Sheykh Forever’s experimental approach to rhythm and off-kilter pop songwriting.
Recorded using a combination of vintage hardware and digital tools, Fire in the Master’s House is a meticulously crafted and volatile album that balances catchy melodies with abrasive textures and politically charged, filmic storytelling. The album will be available on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp on October 16th, 2026, and Sheykh Forever is expected to announce additional live dates later this year.
