Musicians from London and Across the UK Invited to Play at a Spectacular Christmas Musical Celebration

Musicians from London and across the UK are invited to join the Big Christmas Wind Orchestra and Choir for a festive outdoor performance on Sunday December 10th. The event will take place in Coal Drops Yard at Kings Cross, surrounded by Christmas markets, shops and restaurants.

The musical programme features a selection of traditional carols from O Come All Ye Faithful to Hark the Herald Angels Sing, as well as some Christmas pop classics and orchestral favourites. The parts are suitable for all ability levels and no rehearsal or experience is required.

Event co-ordinator Adam Funnell said “our Christmas events a highlight of the festive season for many performers, with well known carols and music performed at an unbelievable scale. It’s also a perfect way to get into music making as a group without diving into a commitment”.

In its 12th year, the Big Christmas Wind Orchestra and Choir has steadily grown from a handful of friends to around three hundred performers from across the UK and beyond. Led by musical director Matthew Hardy, the event is free to participate in and open to anyone. Audience members are also welcome to come and watch, or sing along.

Those wishing to take part must register online via bigchristmaswindorchestra.org and receive sheet music in advance of the day. They can then join the event from 1pm on December 10th. Generous support from Arts Council England means there is no cost to participate in the celebration of carols and festive music.
