“International Animal Rescue Launches “An Afternoon Tea with a Cause” Campaign, Promoting Generosity Through Cake”

International Animal Rescue has launched a fundraising campaign to help save endangered orangutans. The organization is calling on animal lovers, conservationists, and cake enthusiasts to support their cause by indulging in some sweet treats at their upcoming Vegan Afternoon Tea event.

The event, set to take place on World Forest Day (21st March), coincides with International Day of Forests and aims to raise vital funds for the organization’s orangutan rescue, rehabilitation, and lifelong care programs. These funds will go towards supporting orangutans who have been displaced from their natural rainforest habitats due to deforestation and illegal wildlife trade.

The goal for the 2026 Cakes for Apes campaign is to raise £25,000, which will be used to provide food, veterinary care, and medicines for orangutans under the care of International Animal Rescue.

Guests at the afternoon tea event can look forward to a selection of mouth-watering vegan cakes, freshly baked scones, finger sandwiches, and a cup of tea. All the treats have been thoughtfully curated and crafted to be suitable for vegans, with a focus on ethical and sustainable ingredients. Attendees will also receive an exclusive goody bag as a token of appreciation for their support.

President of International Animal Rescue, Alan Knight OBE, will discuss the organization’s conservation efforts around the world and ways in which individuals can help protect endangered species. Joining him will be CEO Gavin Bruce, who will provide updates on some of the rescued orangutans and stories from the rescue team on the frontlines.

The event will take place on Saturday 21st March 2026 at the Hotel du Vin in Brighton, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at £40.00 and can be purchased through the following link: https://bit.ly/Cakes4ApesTea2026. However, tickets are limited, so interested individuals are encouraged to book their spot as soon as possible.

Remember, every bit of support counts in saving these magnificent creatures. Let’s all do our part in protecting the orangutans and their natural habitats.
